Why choose intermodal transport?

The shift from road freight transport to intermodal transport can reduce most of the costs of international transport and related problems.

External reduction

According to studies based on data provided by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, the Ministry of Economic Development, Assotrasporti, Aci and Autostrade, the transition to intermodal transport would allow a reduction of up to 20% of transport costs (including amortization and maintenance costs, personnel, taxes, etc.)

Traffic reduction

The transition to intermodal transport also has a significant impact on the reduction of traffic on the main motorway arteries. In addition to a lower environmental impact, this translates into a significant reduction in the number and average duration of delays on deliveries.

Accidents reduction

The reduction in the number of accidents derives from the reduction in road traffic. In addition to reducing the number of tragic events, this also avoids incurring any future expenses for the repair (or replacement) of the vehicles involved in road accidents.

Social cost reduction

In relation to the reduction in the number of accidents, there is a reduction in the relative social cost. As a result of an accident, in fact, a series of unforeseen events arise, such as the repair of damaged infrastructure, compensation and assistance for victims and their families, which have repercussions on the entire community. With the transition to intermodal transport, these costs, and especially these risks, are drastically reduced.
